Eric is a second-generation realtor who has over four decades of comprehensive residential real estate experience in the home building, remodeling and brokerage industries. During his lengthy residential brokerage career, Eric has sold over 1,000 homes while representing a diverse group of commercial, institutional, governmental and private clientele throughout the Washington, DC Metropolitan Region. Eric’s extensive trade knowledge, coupled with his broad-based skillset and proven track record, are not only unique in the brokerage profession, but they are also a contributing factor to the success of his client’s transactions.
Construction & Remodeling Background
Prior to entering residential brokerage, Eric worked in the homebuilding sector where he was first exposed to the residential real estate industry. Beginning as a teenager, Eric gained practical trade experience while working part-time after school and during weekends as a homebuilder’s field superintendent. Then later after college, he served as a project manager for a residential development firm that built affordable housing in developing countries using innovative construction methodology.
In the 1990’s, Eric pursued other opportunities that kept him closer to his home in Northern Virginia. As the local economy began to grow and diversify, so too did the area’s real estate market. Eric transitioned into the home remodeling and renovation business to address the increasing demand for move-in ready homes. While working for homeowners, realtors and house flippers, he quickly learned how to improve almost any home’s deficiencies on a tight budget. It wasn’t long before he observed first-hand that homes that showed well, sold well! From this pivotal moment, and after further encouragement from his parents -- who were both working in the industry at the time -- Eric obtained his real estate license and joined the brokerage profession on a full-time basis.
Proven Residential Sales Experience
During the initial phase of his brokerage career, Eric became a top producing sales agent for one of the region’s leading new home sales and marketing firms. As an onsite sales manager, he was responsible for the sale and settlement of hundreds of new homes, including multifamily condominium, townhome and single-family projects for the firm’s developer clients throughout Northern Virginia. In recognition of his sales accomplishments (over $250m in annual sales volume), he was ranked by the Wall Street Journal and REAL Trends as one of America’s Top 200 Real Estate Professionals and received numerous industry accolades including several prestigious Marketing and Merchandising Excellence Awards.
As the subprime mortgage crisis of the late 2000’s unfolded, it began to significantly reduce the demand for new homes throughout the region. Accordingly, Eric focused his attention upon the distressed home market that was just beginning to impact the real estate sector. Working on behalf of the firm’s institutional and local governmental clients, Eric managed the sale of its bank-owned and investment properties -- the majority of which were either renovated, remodeled or repaired at Eric’s direction to enhance their salability and resale value.
Over the past decade, Eric has been actively involved in the Northern Virginian resale market, where he has successfully completed numerous general brokerage transactions. During that time, he has used his extensive residential knowledge and broad-based skillset to help his clients buy and sell a variety of property including high rise condominium units, townhouses and single-family homes.
Personalized Service with Client-Centric Focus
Eric is known for providing his clients with distinctive, personalized brokerage service that is tailored according to their specific needs and sales objectives. Moreover, as a solo practitioner, Eric personally manages all aspects of his client’s transaction in lieu of delegating tasks to an assistant or associate. He has learned from experience that it’s not so much about the real estate itself as it is about the people who live within it. By placing his client at the fore of the transaction, Eric’s primary focus is on his client rather than on the property itself. In doing so, Eric gains a deeper understanding of his client’s goals and expectations, which often increases their overall satisfaction and reduces unneeded stress. Whether he is representing first-time home buyers or seasoned home sellers, Eric strives to provide his clients with exceptional service and deliver extraordinary results.
Work Ethic & Core Values
As a top producing real estate professional, Eric attributes much of his success to his strong work ethic and commitment to service, which he believes are fundamental to his real estate practice. Furthermore, he places transparency and accountability at the core of all his client interactions. These values are what characterize Eric’s personal and professional relationships and also what drives his repeat and referral business.
Community Roots
Originally from California’s Napa Valley, Eric has lived in the Northern Virginia community since his early childhood. Over the years, he has witnessed the NoVA area transform from a sedate, Washington, DC suburb into the dynamic “urban city” that it is today. Eric’s depth of local real estate knowledge includes select submarkets within Arlington and Fairfax Counties and the City of Alexandria – areas where he has lived and worked throughout the years. Today, Eric lives with his wife and two children in Arlington County’s Bluemont neighborhood, where he can often be found jogging in the evenings along the W&OD bike path while listening to great 80’s music.
