Clay also served on the School Board of the Regina Education Center. He also served two terms (8 years) on the Iowa City Parks and Recreation Commission, 7 years as Chairperson. Clay is a veteran, having served in the US Army in the Viet Nam Era and also worked as a medical administrator at the VA Medical Center in Iowa City.
