As president and chief executive officer of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices New England Properties/Westchester Properties/New York Properties/Hudson Valley Properties, Candace Adams is responsible for overseeing the brand's operations and 2,200 agents across Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York and Rhode Island. Throughout her 26-year tenure at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, she's managed tremendous success and expansion, including acquiring eleven existing brokerages and launching four new offices.
Chief among the company's accomplishments during Candace's watch has been the launch of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices' New York City presence in January 2017. By combining the strength of the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices brand with a deep commitment to the local market, the team is well-positioned for tremendous growth. Most recently, Candace has integrated the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Hudson Valley Properties team, furthering the organization’s reach into Central New York state.
Candace is particularly proud of the foundation of trust, respect and inclusion that has earned Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices' Northeastern region numerous workplace awards, including being named a No. 1 workplace by Hearst Media Services and the Hartford Courant. Berkshire Hathaway also ranks sixth among Fortune's 2021 list of the World's Most Admired Companies.
An accomplished and recognized real estate industry leader, Candace serves on the Real Estate Board of New York's (REBNY) Residential Brokerage Board of Directors. This revered, elected position places her among the city's elite residential experts responsible for overseeing all organization policies and committees. Until 2019, Candace also served on the SmartMLS board of directors, representing more than 17,000 Connecticut real estate professionals. Before that organization's merger of the Connecticut and Greater Fairfield County listing services, Candace had been a director on the CTMLS board for ten years.
Candace has been included among Swanepoel's "Power 200" list of the most powerful people in residential real estate for eight consecutive years, most recently in 2021. She has been twice named among Real Estate Executive Magazine's "100 Most Influential Real Estate Executives" and was selected as an RISMedia Newsmaker for her contributions to the residential real estate industry every year since 2019.
