A native Bostonian, Mike Foley began his real estate career more than thirty years ago and has focused on providing the highest quality realty services to homeowners throughout the area, as well as representing small to medium-sized residential condominium developments in South Boston, where he has deep roots in the community.
After graduating from Mission High School, Mike attended Harvard University and worked as a psychiatric social worker at Tufts Medical Center before embarking on a career in real estate in the mid-80s. His business was built by getting involved in the community, becoming president of the then-local Board of Trade and subsequently reorganizing that body into the South Boston Chamber of Commerce. Later, he started one of the first Main Street Programs under Mayor Thomas Menino and has sat on the Board of Directors for a number of non-profit organizations, including the Board of the South Boston Neighborhood Development Corporation, where he currently sits. It is the entity in South Boston dedicated to the development of affordable housing in the neighborhood. He is a valuable resource to developers looking for opportunities, as well as assisting them through the zoning process and brokering the sellout of the projects.
Mike’s greatest hobby is combining travel with photography and has gained quite a following in the community for his photographs, which he donates to non-profits to raise money at auctions.
