Education and Training

I graduated from the University of St Thomas in 1978 with a Bachelor of Science with a dual concentration of Marketing and Management.

My real education came from over 35 years of experience in the real world of Corporate America. I grew up in the Automotive Industry and the Car Business and after college almost immediately went into the technology sector. I'm very proud that I actually had products I sold on the first space shuttle. The next 28 years were all focused on the rapidly evolving personal computer business, video and video gaming and finally the "Wild Wild West" of the e-commerce space. I worked for the Walt Disney Company, Twentieth Century Fox and one of the real pioneers in e-commerce Digital River among others.

As with most of you, my early years we're focused on family and career. I've been active in our kids schools and churches but after I left corporate America and our kids were grown and gone it was time to give back. I've been appointed to two groups in the City of Prior Lake.

- I am a Board Member for the Technology Village Business Incubator/Accelerator program in my second term. This new program was developed to nurture and support the growth of emerging technology based businesses within the City of Prior Lake. We accomplish this by creating an entrepreneurial environment that encourages collaboration, fosters job creation and provides connections to local and regional resources. In it's first two years we've brought in 6 new companies and over 17 jobs to the community.

- I am also on the Lakes Advisory Committee. The LAC members are appointed by the City Council and our responsibilities include making recommendations to the council on all matters lake, watershed or in anyway water related to the Council.

Personal Background

Born and raised in New Prague Mn., I've worked my entire life in sales or some aspect of satisfying my clients. I attended the University of St. Thomas and have worked in the high tech sector of Corporate America for over 35 years around the globe. I'm married to my wife Jennifer for almost 35 years and we have two fantastic grown daughters, three adopted dogs and our beautiful grand daughter Lucy. We spent 10 years living in Southern California working for the Walt Disney Companies and Twentieth Century Fox, what a fantastic opportunity for all of us that was. We came back to Minnesota for family, friends and a job opportunity with a small company called Digital River. What a 10 year ride that turned out to be. Four years ago I gave up on Corporate America and started my adventures in Real Estate. At the same time I also decided it was time to give back to the community and joined the board of directors for Prior Lakes Technology Village, and I'm on the Prior Lake, Lakes Advisory Committee.
