Bryce - Real Estate Agent
Bryce Jacobsen was born in Santa Cruz a few months after the 1989 Loma Prietaearthquake. Over a decade earlier, his parents had both moved cross-country fromNew York and Minnesota and independently each decided to call Santa Cruz and thesurrounding community home. Shortly after meeting each other they fell in love, bought a house, started a family and opened a local restaurant. That restaurant, River& Fern, was a staple in the community for many. Bryce still gets reminded often whenbumping into old patrons around town that his father’s Shepard’s Pie is still the bestthey have ever had. Bryce continued to grow his Santa Cruz roots while attending BayView Elementary, Holy Cross and ultimately graduating from Santa Cruz High in 2008.
Bryce moved to San Luis Obispo to attend Cal Poly SLO and earned a Bachelor ofScience in Journalism with a concentration in Public Relations. In order to pay forcollege, Bryce needed a job. A few friends worked in sales for a local technologystart-up, MINDBODY, and convinced him to join them. Bryce didn’t know it at the timebut this was the first step toward a successful career in technology and software salesthat would span nearly the next decade of his life. Bryce started work as a salesassociate and after a year of being a top performer he was promoted and in charge ofa team of 12 other sales associates. Bryce was extremely lucky to learn and grow hisprofessional career at a company like MINDBODY who became the leader for thehealth & wellness industry. Working every day to help small business owners get theirbusiness off the ground and become successful was extremely rewarding. Bryce washooked. In 2013, Bryce decided it was time to take the next step to further his careerand moved to San Francisco. Soon after, MINDBODY became a public company andis still consistently named one of the best places to work in the country by toppublications and praised for their customer-first approach. Bryce also met his girlfriendof 5 years at the company, although, he didn’t know that yet either.
Bryce worked and lived in the mecca of tech - San Francisco - and finally starteddating his crush. He spent time at the largest company in the entire city, Salesforce, before realizing he missed working for a smaller company where he could have moreof an impact on a daily basis. He found that in a start-up called Humanity, where heand a small group of ex-MINDBODY co-workers were the first employees and grewthe company into another leader for small business owners. Bryce was the top AccountExecutive and Sales Rep at the company and was back to loving his work with smallbusiness owners. The job took him all over, including as far as Serbia, where he spentover a month working and spearheading projects with his team at Humanity’s secondglobal office in Belgrade. After a rewarding two years at the company, Bryce and hisgirlfriend decided they had enough of city living and left it all together to travel toSouth East Asia.
In 2016, after a once in a lifetime experience traveling through Thailand and Vietnam,Bryce knew he had found the girl he would be spending the rest of his life with. Theymoved back to Santa Cruz to continue to grow old roots and cultivate new ones of theirown. Bryce landed a job working remotely out of Santa Cruz at one of the fastestgrowing start-ups in the world, WorkJam. Over the next three years he became the topSales Engineer at the company and was the lead for multi-million dollar dealsincluding Apple, Shell, Avis Budget Group, Verizon Wireless, Target, Ulta Beauty,Kroger, Woolworths, TJX and Aramark. This type of work and these types of dealsrequired constant travel both domestic and international and although the deals werebigger, Bryce missed working directly with small business owners. Bryce knew it wastime to make a big change where he could help people locally in Santa Cruz.
After some soul searching and exploration - Bryce left the world of technology lastyear and in 2020 he became a Licensed Real Estate Agent. Bryce made this movewith one simple goal: get back to helping his Santa Cruz neighbors directly on asmaller scale where he can make a greater impact in their lives. Despite being aseasoned salesperson, Bryce knew he wanted to partner with a Real Estate expert tohelp achieve his goal. Bryce found this in Greg Hales - a veteran Realtor in SantaCruz County of 31 years who is consistently a top realtor in the area. They haveteamed up and are beyond excited to work together to serve the wonderful communitythat is Santa Cruz County. They look forward to helping clients with all of their RealEstate needs and with 40 years of experience between the two, they hope you trustthem as thousands have over their careers.
